Is it the "A" bar, and then four bars after it? Is it just the marking and then four bars after the rehearsal mark itself?

I've caught myself a bunch making this mistake. I now opt for "fourth bar of A", which is unambiguous.

Even musicians get caught off guard by off-by-one errors.
