This is an F or 3/4 flute. The full-size flute (in D) has become the standard for traditional Irish #Music, but the 3/4 was quite popular for band and solo usage, and can still be heard here and there.
Michael Cronnolly asked me to let people know they can contact him to get both keyed and keyless F flutes, which he usually doesn't list in his shop. M&E Flutes is a family business from Killasser, county Mayo. #Mastodoine https://flutes.ie/

Reply to I recently got this lovely polymer Irish #Flute. on Tue, 06 Oct 2026 15:10:29 GMT

@klegdixal @paul_ipv6 Figured you might have… I’ve heard it too now, and I like the drone with extensions; might be tempted myself.

cassana@the-crossroads-inn.com

Reply to I recently got this lovely polymer Irish #Flute. on Tue, 06 Oct 2026 15:05:35 GMT

@cassana
I've seen the clip already yesterday

@paul_ipv6

klegdixal@vivaldi.net

Reply to I recently got this lovely polymer Irish #Flute. on Tue, 06 Oct 2026 15:00:15 GMT

@klegdixal @paul_ipv6 I’m absolutely not here to make that *itch* worse for you, but I’ve just seen an email about him adding an alto membrane clarinet, plus a drone version of that one.
