I caught sight of this Pileated Woodpecker in the distance and snapped a couple of quick shots. I wasn't expecting much, but when I cropped the shot, I found this fabulous white pattern on the wing that was sort of draped down from its body. I've seen plenty of these characters over the years, but I have never seen this pattern before. #birds #birding #nature
