If you find an injured owl:
Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.
Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.
Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.
If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.
For more detailed help, see the OwlPages Rescue page.

Elena Ruehr writes, “This volume offers a compilation of my orchestral music, including those works that I composed as a graduate student at the Juilliard School (Sky Above Clouds) and the University of Michigan (Vocalissimus), during my early career (Shimmer, Ladder to the Moon), and relatively recently (Cloud Atlas, Summer Days).”

I checked out Tuba on Flathub, a third party Mastodon client for desktop and...
Wait... are they OMORI characters in the screenshot? Did the developer used OMORI characters to represent Mastodon accounts?
Whaaatt??

We're filming again today, and at the weekend.
In the meantime, here's our new channel trailer on YouTube.
Watch to the end to enjoy all that beautiful music arranged by classical guitarist Anne Charaund and played by Anne and flautist Faith Hillier.

I don't enjoy going to #orchestra concerts with a conductor. I end up watching the conductor since that is often my job. It makes the #music too predictable. Hard to be surprised. I prefer conductorless ensembles - both for playing and listening. The musicians play differently without a conductor.
There are exactly two types of musical keys: Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, and Aolian. And there's also Locrian, but that doesn't count
Shaking a trumpet is a worrying however profitable approach. It combines embouchure strength, breath manage, lip slurs, and diffused hand motion to provide a dynamic sound effect.

Five Mellow Winds, by David Schanke
For sax quintet and concert band! It's up there in the upper register, so there's quite a bit of attention that needs to be paid intonation-wise.
Also it's quite the lesson for those who don't know how to play the upper register... mellow-ly.
Good god my ears.
P.S. not my notation written in! Date with an eraser coming up.

I have written a little arrangement of "Comptine d'un autre été: L'Après-midi" (aka "the Amelie song" by Yann Tiersen), for a mixed ensemble, flute, piano, violin and cello, in the rare case someone needs one tomorrow (I actually needed it):

So that was #Worakls #orchestra. I thought I knew his music, but apparently I only know remixes he did
It was cool having 30 musicians on stage playing (mostly) acoustic instruments (8 string, 8 wind, etc). Sound was good; loved the light show, really used the whole space. No lasers!
