#TIL that the electrical junction box on the outside of our wall, just under the guttering is a #Rediffusion junction box. As it is connected to massive fat cables, I had always assumed it's to do with mains power supply, but it turns out that it was an early days cable provision for radio and TV. So the good news is it doesn't matter that it's falling apart because the service has been offline for four decades. It's model number M117 if any collector of obsolete #electronics is interested ...
