@PamelaBarroway I did it less b/c of AI & more b/c I wanted to ensure that the students kept up w/the reading, which they did -- brilliantly. There were 10 quotation IDs from these books: Sound and the Fury, Frederick Douglass's slave narrative, & Beloved. I asked them to write 3 to 5 sentences about each quote. Then there was an essay question (the class is "The Literature of Crisis): They could write about trauma (as defined by Cathy Caruth) & the other social death (Orlando Patterson).
