@stanleygrill @ossobuffo One of my undergrad composition teachers told me that Debussy ruined the whole-tone scale for the rest of us: there’s nothing you can do with it that won’t sound like Debussy.(He believed this because he didn’t know Thelonius Monk, whose music conclusively disproves it.)
