@globalmuseumThe chambered Nautilus are slightly different from the Amonoidea that didnot survive the mass extinction 400 mio yrs ago. (!)Nautiluses appeared some 100 mio yrs later from a different branch e.g in ceratacious aera ( 60 mio yrs)yes they look quite similiar but from taxonomie of species they are different as a Wiki article makes clearhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammonoidea
