It's a feeling I got from the game Elite, an MMO which maps out the entire galaxy and you can actually fly to and land everywhere. You can even travel to Sagittarius A, the black hole at the center of it, but it takes real life weeks. I never did it because apparently there are griefers hanging out there, that will kill you instantly when you arrive. It's a very cool game though, I've never felt so lonely in a game as being very far away from civilization on some distant world just discovering ancient Alien ruins and stuff like that.
