My local shop had one of these left over from Record Store Day, and I was more than happy to pick it up. For the longest time, this only existed as a test pressing, and was never released. It’s remastered from that original test source VERY well. Relentlessly driving guitars with tight Afro-rock grooves, it’s a perfect reflection of that late-period Zamrock vibe. Now I just need to find a copy of Chrissy Zebby Tembo’s MY ANCESTORS, which if you haven’t heard, is incredible. It’s been reissued a few times, but originals are BEYOND expensive and impossible to find. The NON-RSD titles I picked up from my local shop today. Got everything I wanted in regards to the RSD stuff, but also these as well. Very excited about the SUPER CLEAN original stereo Otis Redding.Dirty Deeds and Strange Days are both flawless upgrade copies for ones I already have that are a bit banged up.The Fire Escape was a KILLER find, and a record rich with odd detail (which we’ll get into when I post it).And I LOVE that Tears For Fears song, and was more than happy to get the 12” (which has the full version of it), as well as cool U.S. remix of “Shout” as one of the b-sides. Record Store Day done right, baby.
