I guess I've been tootling around on my #flute enough, because suddenly today I've started to be able to go up an octave very comfortably and consistently.

I've mostly been just messing around and trying to build muscle memory for which note is where, but apparently along the way my mouth figured out how to get it into that next octave along the way.
This really has been the best musical money I've spent since the deluge, it's so fun to play and noodle on.

@paul_griffin nice! Other than the progress, I am glad that you have been enjoying the journey and that it happened through noodling around (just IMO the best way to truly enjoy something)

@CCirco Thanks! Obv I have ideas about pulling it into my regular work, but it's awfully nice to just take it out of its case and be immediately making music.
I totally understand why AndrΓ© 3k enjoys his flutes, there's something extra nice about it

@CCirco Not to mention that you *have* to get into some deeper, controlled breathing in order to play, so in that sense it is *physiologically* calming to use.

@paul_griffin yes breath work is extremely important. Sounds like a great example of where creative art meets physiological/psychological well-being

@paul_griffin also, Iβd be interesting in how you integrate the flute into your creations
