@KatyElphinstone The difference here is not that we always say what we mean, and certainly not that we say everything we think. It’s that if you have said something, it’s fair game to treat you as if you meant it. (So choose your words accordingly.) It throws me off when people get offended when I act as if they meant what they said. Even if I know they didn’t, to me it’s disrespectful to do otherwise.

There are others who’s hyper-focus/special interest/skills are more aligned with that. They tend to the group, the culture, the purpose, the cohesion.Everyone adds to a group from their own strengths and experiences.
