I was looking into the environmental impact of AI, more specifically free software AI models, yet I can't seem to find much when it comes to the kind of energy they use (fossil, renewables?).

@zughy_boi I found https://limited.systems/articles/the-real-problem-with-AI/ to be an excellent read (as well as the other articles on this site).I agree that the general AI hype might be the worst problem than energy use attributed to individual users.Each time someone writes positively about LLMs, I fear that it just added to the hype.
