In 1868 Dostoyevsky perfectly described social media "Some have only to meet with some idea by hearsay, or to read some stray page, to believe at once that it is their own opinion and has sprung spontaneously from their own brain. The impudence of simplicity, if one may so express it, is amazing in such cases. It is almost incredible, but yet often to be met with. This impudence of simplicity, this unhesitating confidence of the stupid in himself and his talents"#socialmedia #ageOfStupid

I don't get it. Only like 2 sins on this list are sins for me. But I just don't get it. Oh well, maybe this will be interesting read for some people. Like the timeline bit? One of the best features, IMO, especially the local timeline, but I am vastly out of touch with these types of users. I suspect it's because my RSS reader has been my main social media for a while, and I don't have accounts on general instances, so the local timeline is the best! https://wedistribute.org/2026/04/the-seven-deadly-fediverse-ux-sins-a-redemption-report-card/ #Fediverse #SocialMedia #Mastodon

#WyntonMarsalisL’atmosphère des clubs a profondément influencé ma compréhension du monde. On y croisait toute la diversité des comportements humains, et ces hommes m’ont marqué avant tout par ce qu’ils étaient, bien plus que par leur musique. #Jazz #Trumpet #Music #socialmedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJP1RDU4xs4&list=RDQlcMWPrgSt8&index=16
