I used to own both. They sound played so similarly I ended up donating the cornet.

Are you the guy crossing legs or the one with black gloves or one near the camera?@ethan256 I am crossing legs and on the left side, there are another 3 guys playing trumpets. But I do not think that they are on Mastodon. I will ask them next time

Most musicians are still on FB which is a shame -

Howdy Molly, yes, they indeed sound very similar!The difference is more noticed in the french horn though their share the fingerings

In the pic, I think its a pocket trumpet if not mistaken... I'd never met one, but having been reading about different instruments!I play both trumpet and cornet, though I am open to learning more wind instruments
