    One of the oldest known musical instruments!

    A Paleolithic #flute made from a #swan's wing bone some 40,000 years ago! The preserved length is about 12.6 cm with three finger holes. The original length of the flute is unknown.

    Found in the Geißenklästerle Cave near Blaubeuren. This is one of eight known flutes found on the Swabian Jura. The finds suggest that music played an important role in this region.

      @ninawillburger swan's bone!! Bids bones are hollow so maybe that's why they tried the first...

          The Swabian Jura has got to be one of the most stupendous areas on the surface of the planet. The wealth of artefacts recovered - this region must have had a veritable explosion of cultural expression throughout human development!
